I hope everyone is having a good summer, enjoying the break from university.
Anyway, I felt I would announce that the Disabled Students' Network is once again going to be running our Access Your Future event at the end of this academic year. Access Your Future is an event dreamed up by ex-James Access Rep Zohra Khan, where speakers from liberation backgrounds would be invited to give speeches. Last year the speakers provided very interesting accounts of their life and opened our minds, especially deafness and intersectionality. This year, we hope to make it bigger and better.
This year, Zohra will be running the event, along with Halifax Access Rep Josh Salisbury. They hope to get some big name speakers. However, this means that the invitations need to go out now. Therefore, I am asking anyone in York who wishes to get invovled with this project, or knows of any good speakers, to please get in touch with either myself (at firstname.lastname@example.org), Josh Salisbury (email@example.com), or Zohra Khan (firstname.lastname@example.org) to get invovled.
The more people involved the more chances we have of making this a bigger and better event. Please get involved!
Have a great summer!
