I hope your summer has gone well. I just thought I would blog about the disabled freshers programme. Given the success of last year, YUSU has decided to work with the colleges once again to ensure that new disabled students will have the welfare support they require. The move to university can often be hectic and strange. We have organised a series of drop-ins in each college for new students can meet myself, disability services, and their college support team.
The line-up is as follows:
-Alcuin: 3 PM in the Alcuin JCR on Wednesday 1st October
-Constantine and Langwith: Holding a general drop-in and will provide their own information
-Derwent and James: 10:30 AM in the James Upper Common Room on Thursday 2nd of October
-Goodricke: 4 PM in the Goodricke JCR on Friday 3rd of Ocotber
-Halifax: 5 PM in JJ's on Monday 29th September
-Vanbrugh: 11 AM in The Warren on Tuesday 30th of September
I would like to thank all the colleges for providing support and agreeing to host these events. However, in order to make this event a success, we need to promote this. However, I would hope that other places can promote these drop-ins so we can see freshers making the most of this event!
