Disability History Weeks

Posted by Thomas Ron, 24/11/2014

Hello everyone,

It has been quite a long term with a lot having been done.  To end the term, we as a Network have decided to run two weeks of awareness.  Today students will notice that we have put up pictures of famous disabled people throughout history, a diverse bunch, from the Roman Emperor Claudius to Tanni-Grey Thompson.  These people are a great celebration of our diversity and show the heights disabled people have acheived.  Thanks go out to Evelyn Kramer, James Tracey, and Julia Neugarten for thinking up many of the people on this list.

We are also going to be showing Finding Nemo in YourSpace at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, with popcorn and sweets on sale.  All proceeds will go towards helping the university automate more doors on campus.  We will also be accepting donations.  Therefore, I hope that many people will come to this event and enjoy watching an absolute classic.  Major thanks to James Tracey, Josh Salisbury, and Evelyn Kramer for organising this movie night and fundraiser.

We will also be having a social afterwards, so if you stick around we can end this term in style, with an excellent list of bars thought up by Zohra Khan.

Hope to see everyone around for a great two weeks
