University of York Students' Union (YUSU)

Advice & Support Centre

The Advice & Support Centre (ASC) is the Union’s main portal for providing professional, independent information and advice to students who have academic or welfare concerns or are experiencing difficulties with student life at the University.

Whether you require guidance with an Academic Appeal, are facing personal issues that are affecting your study or just want to talk through any concerns that you have with tackling the challenges that life at University can present, please get in touch.

Who we are

Louise, Susie and Richard are YUSU’s dedicated staff team of Advice and Welfare advisors.

We take on individual cases and help students to overcome academic and personal issues, guiding them through University processes and appeals, and giving advice and information about where to find help regarding health and personal problems.

We also work across the University running fun and informative workshops on different aspects of student life.

If you have an issue you want to discuss, please get in touch!  We can then either arrange a face-to-face appointment, or provide information and advice over email - whichever works best for you.
